Worksite Fitness and Rehabilitation along with Granny Smith, Gold Fields entered the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave with the hope to raise awareness and donate to the worthy cause. WFR staff member Emily Orzel, coordinated the fundraising event.
Nine Granny's staff committed to shaving or dying their hair across the two quiz nights held onsite to fundraise for the Leukaemia Foundation. The two quiz nights included three rounds of ten questions, a raffle with prizes donated by GSM, interim games and the chance to shave off a strip of hair for a generous donation.
Thanks to the efforts of many individuals, the final tally raised for the World’s Greatest Shave was $13,428.10.
WFR and GSM were invited to attend an awards night held by the Leukaemia Foundation where we were lucky enough to see the fundraising results from each sector (Mining and Energy, Education, Business, Family and Friends and Individuals) and hear firsthand from a family battling blood cancer about the ongoing support they receive from the Leukaemia Foundation.
Granny Smith, Gold Fields was awarded with 3rd place in the Mining and Energy division out of 56 teams for total funds raised for the World’s Greatest Shave.
