Steve Gauci never thought he would own his own business, but 12 years later, he is the sole owner of one WA’s most respected health, wellness and injury prevention companies, Worksite Fitness and Rehabilitation. And now, he is a recipient of WA Business News 40 Under 40 award.
The awards recognise not only determination and commercial drive, but also philanthropic pursuits that balance corporate achievements, and public contributions to the welfare of WA. The annual awards were established in 2002, with over 400 leaders recognised over the past 12 years.
The process of the 40 Under 40 award for Steve started in August 2012 when he was nominated by business associate Rob Bentley, from Acuity Coaching. The nomination was accepted by WA Business News, leading to the request for a formal application to be submitted.
Steve engaged the services of Donna Skender from Lasso Productions to assist in completing the submission. This was completed via three interviews with Donna, covering Steve’s career and WFR’s business development, plus his values, work and life philosophy.
The awards night was scheduled for March 2013, so there was a four month wait whilst the panel of judges assessed over 100 submissions. The Gala Awards Dinner was held on 13th March and Steve invited four associates and their partners to join him and wife Clare to enjoy the night.
Over 1000 guests attended the evening, held in honour of Western Australia's top 40 business entrepreneurs and professionals under the age of 40. Steve was announced as one of the winners of the 40 Under 40 awards, and proudly accepted the award and celebrated his fantastic achievement.
